A Fabulous Mess: BHC+Beautycounter

my cancer diagnosis was a wake up call. for more years than i care to admit, i have hit the snooze button on my health ~ it was a badge of honor to say i hated to exercise; i ate too many carbs; my sugar levels could be controlled - i just needed to cut my sweet tea intake; chemical absorption is something someone else should worry about; i don't drink much or smoke; it's just my autoimmune issues i have dealt with for YEARS.

for the past year, i have made an effort {albeit slowly} to change my outlook; afterall, I have a young daughter and a fab husband who need me to find all of the shit they have lost. enter virginia bell and Beautycounter. i continued to see and read about what BC was doing to change the beauty industry and i was intrigued.

so i scheduled some me-time to go to virginia's house and play with skin care and makeup. and i left there {HOOKED.} cleansing balm that made me WANT to wash my face everynight. lipsheer that feels GREAT on my lips and doesn't dry them out. overnight peel that leaves my face feeling FABULOUS the next morning. all of this and with fewer chemicals being absorbed into my skin.

so i learned more about Beautycounter and became a consultant. quietly, i have introduced some friends to Beautycounter's products. before i jumped completely in, i wanted to hear honest opinions of the products and these friends are honest. #theyLOVEittoo.

do i have time? depends. i am making time to take better care of myself, so yes. i am a wife, mom, full-time banker, chamber of commerce chair-elect, board member of united way and children's home society, shitty housekeeper, so no. but i am electing yes and we will see how it goes.
